Tropical pavilions spring up inside Paris’s Galeries Lafayette courtesy of Prada

Paris’s historic department store Galeries Lafayette is awash with a green neon glow this month thanks to a new installation by Prada dubbed Hyper Leaves.

The collaboration sees two brightly-coloured ‘forest’ pavilions spring up inside the building to house Prada SS20 women’s and men’s collections. Inspired by tropical architecture, the tent-like women’s stand is built from metal mesh, painted in a spring green shade. Its roof and side are ribbed with neon tube lighting, while accessories and bags sit on giant leaf-shaped pedestals and a lily pad shaped carpet runs beneath.

Over at the men’s retail space, a giant baobab tree reaches up through the height of the department store’s atrium, culminating with angular branches laced with glowing tube lights. A forest floor carpet and leaf-shaped displays complete the look.

The pop-up coincides with the city’s Maison et Objet fair and will be in situ until 10 February 2020.
