Visitors to San Francisco’s gothic landmark Grace Cathedral can bathe in a 100-ft-tall curtain of light inside the sacred space, created by artist George Zisiadis.
Illuminate SF commissioned the project, dubbed Grace Light, which comprises a towering light beam that is housed in the 1906 Episcopal cathedral’s famed labyrinths. An original score by composer Gabriel Gold accompanies the light installation.
Zisiadis conceived the artwork as ‘a space for contemplation’. Guests can lie down inside it while basking in its shifting light.
Grace Light is free to the public and will be in situ throughout 2020, with tickets for the installation released in batches.
