Antique furniture, roaring fireplaces and plush rugs create a pocket of bohemian grandeur in Hudson.

There are just 11 rooms on offer at the Warren Street hotel, which takes over three buildings. Rooms are a mish-mash of periods, with interiors designed by Lev Glazman, who set The Maker Hotel up together with Alina Roytberg and Damien Janowicz.

The painted ceilings, mosaic floors and stained glass windows are all original features. Still, Glazman has added a wealth of historical pieces and objects made by local Hudson valley craftspeople.

He describes the atmosphere as ‘old-world bohemian glamour that fuses a worldly design ethos shaped by decades of travel.’

Several of the rooms – which start at $400 for the night – are based on creative professions. The Artist room’s walls are covered in paintings, while the Writer suite has a private library. Other rooms evoke specific places or epochs, including 1920s Paris and Hollywood glamour.

Downstairs, the hotel restaurant is located in a glass conservatory, next to a cocktail lounge set inside a restored 19th-century carriage house.
