Christie’s’ former co-chairman has launched a members-only auction platform, which will let buyers swipe to bid on artworks.
Fair Warning, the new project from Loïc Gouzer, will auction off one artwork every week, with sales taking place every Sunday at 5 pm EDT – that’s 10 pm in the UK.

It will adopt a slightly different process than traditional auction houses, accessible to an audience of collectors that have either been personally invited or approved by Gouzer himself. They’ll need to have fingers at the ready if they want to swipe and put in a bid, with reports suggesting sales could last only a few minutes.
The first auction will take place on 28 June, and if Gouzer’s past is anything to go by – he brokered the $450m sale of Da Vinci’s Salvator Mundi in 2017 – should make for interesting browsing.
