A converted Victorian tannery, complete with studios and a loft apartment, has hit the market in Somerset’s Frome for a cool £1.085m.
The 6,700 sq ft warehouse is available in its entirety – something of a rarity for the popular creative enclave. Its ground and first floors contain workshops and mixed-use studios, which rent to creatives and offer commercial income for the Frome property’s new owner.
The third floor meanwhile is a whitewashed, open plan apartment that spans the width of the converted warehouse. It’s presently organised as a two-bedroom dwelling, though the mezzanine level which overlooks the double-height living room could be turned into a third bedroom.
Beinghuman founder Gaynor O’Flynn oversaw the refurbishment of the building, which is for sale via The Modern House and has retained its rugged industrial character. Polished concrete floors run across the lower levels, with original wooden floorboards on the upper floor. Steel framed windows and beams are also preserved.
