Artist Liz West gave the classical courtyard of Paris’ Museum Nissim de Camondo a neon makeover during fashion week, filling it with 169 ‘glowing’ fluorescent bowls.

The luminous installation was created for fashion brand Nemozena and appears as though charged by electricity. Following its stint at Paris Fashion Week, it will now travel to Dubai and Milan.

‘The decision to use bowls was to reflect the stunning architecture in a concave surface,’ explains West. ‘They also double as rain catchers, with the water creating yet another reflective surface for people to view their surroundings. The lens of our eye sees the work in so many different ways, the colour, light, architecture and material work together to create a sensory experience.’

West is known for her colossal, kaleidoscopic colour installations. She has previously turned an office block into an inhabitable spectrum and reimagined the floor of a Scunthorpe church with pop-coloured ‘lily-pads’.
