Ten floors of New York’s 75 Rockefeller Plaza are being converted into Airbnb apartments, which will give guests prime views of Manhattan.
It’s part of a partnership between the house sharing platform and estate agent RXR Realty, who have big plans to convert its New York commercial properties into ‘a new category of urban lodging’.
Locals will know the 33-storey building as part of the Rockefeller Centre, which is home to broadcaster NBC as well as the annual festive ice rink. Guests booking an overnight stay will also have access to a social club on 75 Rockefeller’s top floor and coworking spaces in the building complex, in addition to their private apartment.
There’ll be 200 apartments to choose from with the project slated to open in around a year’s time. Each apartment will be individually ‘curated’, Airbnb says.
