Cabin living gets a sophisticated update inside this French holiday home by Lode Architecture, on the banks of Normandy’s Seine estuary.
The Honfleur villa, dubbed Maison G, is on the market for €299,000 via Espaces Atypiques has and has featured in international architecture magazines since it completed in 2011. Its monochrome slate exterior gives way to a hollow volume in which a series of wood panel walls partition the space.
Maison G utilises passive techniques in its construction. Wooden slabs are stacked to form the ground floor along the slope of the site, resting on point foundations which help ventilate the French property.
A double-height living room opens onto a timber deck, creating a large terrace for summer months.
