Soho House takes its co-working concept to Hong Kong

The brand’s aesthetic gets a Chinese twist inside the outpost

Soho House has opened its second Asian clubhouse, this time in Hong Kong – and it includes the brand’s SohoWorks coworking concept.

The Sheung Wan-based House will be the first outside of London to host the shared workspace, which will open next year. The clubhouse has already thrown open its doors in the meanwhile, and it continues the familiar aesthetic members of the international brand have come to expect. These include jewellery-box tones, dark woods and vintage furniture.

Nods to the surrounding city come in the form of hand-embossed basketweave ceilings and Chinese bronze screens. Flourishes, inspired by the film industry, can also be found across the multi-level space, as well as over 100 pieces from artists such as Lee Kit and Tsang Kin Wah born or based around Hong Kong.

In homage to the clubhouse’s locality, dim sum is served in the House Brasserie and Pool Room, which features a giant mirror ball, but there are the usual Soho House staples to be found elsewhere. A main bar, gym and show space round off the pack.
