Architecture and fashion often go hand-in-hand but Serbian fashion designer Roksanda Ilinčić took this relationship further with her show at the Serpentine Galleries this morning.
It’s the second time the designer has taken over the annual summer pavilion, this year designed by Junya Ishigami. Its cavernous, slate-covered space served as the backdrop for a simple yellow catwalk which skirted the structure in the architecturally-inspired event.

Beyond the setting, pieces in Roksanda’s SS20 collection featured bright pops of colour, such as a ‘Christo pink’, and sculptural shapes.
The designer told WWD: ‘It’s wonderful that in London right now there’s a merger of different artistic disciplines: Art, fashion, music, literature, poetry. Everyone is somehow blurring the boundaries and becoming one, which is a very positive thing coming out of this negative time. That’s why I wanted to bring the collection back to the Serpentine Pavilion and bring in architecture and art.’
