Studio Didea stripped things back to an elegant minimum at Palermo’s Sobremesa restaurant, which is bathed in cool blue-grey tones.
The colour floods the walls and ceilings of the restaurant, located in an 18th-century palazzo that was also once a suitcase shop. Pared-back light fittings and furniture put the focus on the surrounding palette, as well as the views of Palermo – created by opening up what was once three separate rooms.
Studio Didea has installed a Carrara marble bar counter as part of the restaurant’s interiors, while backlit shelves bring light into the darker corners of the eatery, and wine bottles are tucked away behind a bespoke dark wood cabinet.
