Colonial French influences have been given a moody twist inside new Vietnamese dining spot, NĂM in Kiev.

YOD Design Lab honed the restaurant’s interiors which are a patchwork of influences. Charcoal walls are offset by French-style windows and veined marble fixtures, while wooden elements – including furniture and flooring – have been made from 100-year-old wine barrels, says the practice.

Crittall-style glass partitions offer diners a glimpse inside the kitchen, while the bar is part of a tiered seating area, characteristic of Vietnam.

NĂM’s dishes put a modern spin on Vietnamese classics such as pho, sea bass with star fruit and daikon salad, fresh noodles and sago pudding.
