Want to be one of the first to spend the night on The Great Wall of China in its long history? Airbnb is offering you the chance to sleep in a centuries-old tower along the 13,170 mile long fortification – and earn bragging rights in the process.

Four winners of the Airbnb contest and their guests will get to kip on the wall, be treated to a Chinese banquet accompanied by traditional music and can learn skills like calligraphy or stamp-making, as part of Airbnb Experiences. A night under the stars will be followed with a sunrise hike in the mountains.

Those worried about sanitary facilities need not fret – Airbnb is bringing portable bathrooms. While guests will be able to gaze at the stars from their bed, a protective glass ceiling will keep them warm at night.

To be in with a chance to win, would-be guests must do some homework, explaining to Airbnb ‘why it is more important now than ever to break down barriers between cultures’ and how they will use The Great Wall of China experience ‘to build new connections’.
