Recognise this secluded tropical island? It reportedly served as the backdrop to Johnny Depp’s Pirates of the Caribbean movies – and now it could be yours for $85m.
Little Pipe Cay is part of the Exumas island chain in the Bahamas and stretches out across 38-acres. The island was completely uninhabited until 15 years ago, when its businessman owner Michael Dingman turned it into a private retreat, building five houses for his family and guests.
It’s on the market via Knight Frank, and each island property has sea views and access to its own private beach, while staff accommodation and storage is built at the far end of the cay. The dwellings are built largely in a colonial style, with expansive verandas.
Other facilities at the Caribbean retreat include landscaped gardens, swimming pools and spa facilities, and a bar in the main house.
Little Pipe Cay is one of 365 tiny Bahamian islands that form the Exumas, and is accessible by seaplane from the private Odyssey Terminal on New Providence. The cay is close to Bay Major Cay, aka ‘Pig Island’, famous for its swimming swines, and around 70 miles from Nassau.
