Those dreaming of rustic living can get the ball rolling with this ‘cabin in a box’ Afraym kit by Everywhere Inc.

All the construction drawings and specs for the home are contained in a single package, which arrives in the post. Owners can then decide to hire Everything Inc or another construction company to build the cabin, or be bold and do it themselves.

The A-frame is based on the holiday homes of the 1960s and has cedar decks, vaulted ceilings and three bedrooms – including a bunk space that sleeps four. Its 41 windows mean natural light floods the home, and large sliding doors open onto the outside.

Afraym’s initial plans cost $1,950 to buy, with the total price of the home between $255,000 and $277,000 to construct. Everything Inc also offers an Airbnb-ready programme for new owners hoping to rent their cabin out.
