We’ve seen slides inside offices before but Downtown LA’s US Bank Tower is going one step further, installing a ride 1,000 ft up its facade.

The tallest building on the West Coast is undergoing a $50 million makeover by design firm Gensler, creating an observation deck and bar in addition to a glass slide taking thrill-seekers from the 70th to the 69th floor.

Called the OUE Skyspace LA, the rooftop complex is expected to open in late June and entry will cost $25. The slide itself will cost an additional $8. A restaurant, separate to Skyspace, will also move into the 71st floor later down the line.

According to the LA Times, the 73-storey tower’s revamp is a response to the growing popularity of the area’s renovated historical buildings, which are drawing in creative companies.

The US Bank Tower, originally called the First Interstate World Center, was designed by Pei Cobb Freed & Partners and built in 1989. It’s not the only structure to have a sky-high slide coming up, with London’s ArcelorMittal Orbit tower set to open a 178-m-long helter skelter this year.
