You can slow things down a notch at this cosy summer bolthole in Sweden’s Smygehamn

The 50 sqm cabin – for sale via Maklarhuset for 2.42m Kr – is a contemporary take on the traditional rustic bolthole, with a glazed facade and simple pitched roof design.

Completed earlier this year and set over a single level, the three-room cabin has a minimalist feel thanks to white-washed timber walls and ceilings, but bold bursts of colour come from textiles dotted throughout the Swedish property.

Its linear layout creates a combined living room and kitchen (complete with wood burning stove) as well as a separate master bedroom and bathroom. A sleeping loft has been tucked above the living room for guests.

The Swedish cabin home comes with a detached garage that could be used as a workshop.
