Miuccia Prada commissioned AMA to design a set of imaginary piazzas for the Italian brand’s FW20 Womenswear show in Milan – a riposte to its men’s show last month.
Continuing to explore the ‘the abstract energy of the public arena,’ the stage was drenched in red light inside the Deposito grand hall, as models walked though runways presided over by abstract 3D cut-outs of Atlas, holding the world on their shoulders.
The audience was gathered overhead to watch from a specially constructed platform that ran through the centre of the stages.
The sets featured a different colour palette and ambience than the Prada FW20 Menswear set-up, swapping purple and green for black and white, printed with rippling lines, and a purple floral motif on the walls. Meanwhile, glowing red doorways provided exits and entrances for the models.
