There’s miles of mountain views at this 1961 home, located in Palm Springs’ Vista Las Palmas – an area once home to the likes of Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra.
The Palm Springs property was one of a couple of thousand built by the Alexander Construction Company in the 1950s and 60s, which included Elvis and Priscilla’s Presley’s honeymoon home. The breezy midcentury-style of these houses was influential on many Palm Springs architects, and the designs are still highly coveted.
This one, listed with The Agency for $1.8m, has had some updates since it was built – including a new kitchen, roof, pool and spa – but its long, low layout and clean lines remain undisturbed. Carefully placed prickly pears and palms surrounded the three-bedroom property, which includes a backyard pool.
Sliding doors frame glimpses of the nearby mountains while lashings of white paint and stone floors keep things cool across interiors. But for chillier days there’s a wood burning stove to cosy up beside.
