Finnish designer Robin Falck designed this simple A-frame cabin in the Finnish capital of Helsinki which is a minimalist take on off-grid living.

Nolla cabin sits on Vallisaari island, which is a short boat ride from the city centre and forms part of the Helsinki archipelago. It was developed by Finnish renewable energy company Neste and clocks in at just under 100 sq ft.

Solar panels clad the A-frame’s exterior, powering the cabin, while its interior walls are raw plywood with a transparent front looking out across the water.

Nolla is available to rent from €30 per night via Airbnb with rent donated to The Ocean Cleanup fund.

Inside the cabin there’s is a small stove for cooking, and room enough for two – but there’s no infrastructure on the island or plumbing. Guests must make a short walk to the nearby dry toilet and take a dip in the sea to wash.
