There’s a decidedly retro-futuristic feel to the Cube One, which injects some sci-fi charm into the world of prefab architecture.
Singapore-based company Nestrom designed the tiny home for city environments, particularly places like the city-state where low-cost homes are in demand. It has made the most of the prefab’s 14.5 sq m floor plate by installing built-in furniture that creates areas for sleeping, cooking and dining.

Thanks to its curved, moulded edges and the use of under lighting, the effect is reminiscent of a spaceship’s cabin.
Cube One starts at $30,000 for the basic model, which can be customised with add ons and finishes, and though conceived for space-starved cities, the prefab can be shipped around the world. It arrives fully furnished and ready for inhabitation.
