Breuer watch: Marcel Breuer’s Lauck House is for sale in New Jersey for $1.21m following a top-to-toe renovation.
The four-bedroom Princeton residence was built by the Hungarian modernist architect in 1950 and is modelled after his earlier 1949 design for New York’s Museum of Modern Art’s garden.

Rafi and Sara Segal have restored the midcentury property with help from the Rockefeller Foundation – the owner of the MOMA version of the dwelling – which supplied information including the original colour palette and plans Breuer used.

On the market via Berkshire Hathaway Home Services, Lauck House has been returned to its original design, deemed revolutionary at the time for its designated ‘children’s area’, varying ceilings heights and multiple entrances.
