So futuristic it appeared in Star Trek: The Next Generation, this striking Malibu home is a piece of unusual architecture.

Ellis David Gelman designed the wedge-shaped Californian property, which appeared on-screen in the late 1980s. Its angular form houses an open-plan living space with soaring ceilings and wraparound windows that look onto the ocean. The sea views continue in the four bedrooms upstairs, which include a master suite with a sizeable closet.

The house – listed with Coldwell Banker for $5.695m – sits in two acres of outdoor space, including a concrete courtyard, rose garden and an ocean terrace surrounded by glass railing. A separate building on the same site has room for an office or gym.
