There’s a snap-worthy detail around every corner at Budapest‘s Buha’i’rest bar, from its polka dot floor to its giant Kaws sculpture.
Designer Roman Plyus oversaw the interiors of the 350 sq m bar, which has taken over part of a former textile factory in the Hungarian capital. He wasted no time installing Insta-ready furniture and fittings, choosing chunky pink tables and lights in geometric shapes.
Plyus has designed several corners that are ripe for photographs, arranging seating and sofas against terracotta-coloured backdrops, and flower arrangements. Kaws’ Pinocchio statue hides in a pink-tiled alcove, around the corner from the stairs leading up to the lounge.
But he’s not just doing it for the ‘gram. Buha’i’rest’s palette of contrasting pinks sets off the space’s grey tiles and arched concrete ceilings, while vintage Pierre Jeanneret cane chairs and a corner fireplace ensure it all stays cosy.
