The pink and blue landscapes of Italy’s Abruzzo inspired Ettore Spalletti’s pastel-tinted art show at the Nouveau Musée National de Monaco.
Ombre d’azur, transparence runs until 3 November and features new site-specific artworks conceived especially for the museum’s Villa Paloma site. They’re on display alongside historic pieces from the Italian artist’s back catalogue.

Their soft hues evoke the skies and landscape of Spalletti’s native Abruzzo and have been created using his technique of applying dozens of layers of paint onto wood, leaving them to dry, and then scraping them back to create more intense colour.
