You’ll be able to unwind in style at this opulent Moroccan palace, close to Marrakech.

Desert Rose was designed by Bab Design in collaboration with the property’s owners. The sprawling 23.5-acre complex is accessed by a 600-m-long driveway studded with palm trees and thousands of plants.

The red-stone house was built to royal specifications and features soaring ceilings and arched doors and supports, while finishes include granite, marble carved wall. Contemporary and traditional Moroccan details mesh across the interiors of the seven-bedroom abode, which is dotted with ornamental Moroccan hanging lights and enormous arched windows that peek onto the property’s gardens.

A highlight is the three-storey library, with its carved cedar ceilings and shelving, and a hidden staircase leading up to the first floor.

But Desert Rose has really been built for entertaining: the dining room seats 20 and there’s a 16-seat private cinema and even a nightclub on site.

The grounds of the Marrakech property – on the market via Christie’s International Real Estate affiliate Kensington Luxury Properties, with price on application – have been extensively landscaped. Rose gardens, a 42-m-long swimming pool, olive groves and ornamental fountains surround the house, which has a number of outdoor terraces for dining and entertaining.

Additional facilities include a spa and health centre, sauna, indoor pool and hammam.
