From its responsibly sourced wood panelling to the recyclable kitchen countertops, the Birch Le Collaboration House is an eco-friendly take on the build-your-own home movement.
The prefab kit house is designed by Michigan company Hygge Supply, which offers Scandi-style homes that can be completely customised. The Birch Le Collaboration is the latest addition to its collection of flat-pack houses – which range from tiny home ‘pods’ up to three-bedroom dwellings.
The prefab uses sustainable materials and manufacturing processes, wherever possible, leaving no waste behind after construction. But that doesn’t mean Hygge Supply has compromised on aesthetics. The home cuts a striking figure with its black timber panelling, sizeable floor-to-ceiling windows and moody interiors.
Those wanting to try before they buy can do so on Michigan’s Lake Leelenau. The Birch Le Collaboration House is listed on Airbnb from £151 per night, with Hygge Supply’s kits starting from $53k.
