Jonathan Tuckey has revamped Berlin’s Michelberger Hotel – creating 23 new industrial-inspired suites on its top floor.

Tuckey has paired wood and concrete inside the suites, using plywood to create shelves and partitions and installing terrazzo for bathroom flooring. Minimal glass light fittings, off-white walls and a touch of grey paint completes the interiors.

Rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows that look across the courtyard of the Friedrichshain hotel – known for its communal approach to hospitality and connection to the arts community.

Downstairs, the Michelberger’s lobby has also had a refurb courtesy of Danish architect Sigurd Larsen. He’s added a new set of low timber-framed sofas and orange glass chandeliers, reminiscent of clusters of grapes, to the hotel’s interiors.
