A minimalist artist’s retreat has hit the market in New Mexico for $560,000 – and it comes with 40-acres of untouched landscape.
Allan and Gloria Graham designed the 1,860 sq ft property which sits on a private stretch of land in Pecos, between Santa Fe and Las Vegas.

Built using straw bales and fitted with solar panels, the two-bedroom passive home minimises its impact on the environment, and features a stucco and corrugated metal façade, dotted with large windows that frame views of the surrounding landscape.
Inside, things are more gallery-like, with white walls, polished concrete floors and a huge vaulted ceiling in the main living area, which leads out to a large redwood deck off the kitchen.

The US property – on the market via Sotheby’s International Realty – comes with three large and separate studio spaces, including the main atelier which has a garage-style roller door and enormous skylit windows.
Hidden Valley Ranch road is bordered by a wildlife preserve, and a trout stream runs through the sprawling estate.
