Luigi Feltrin, the founder of Italian furniture brand Arper, has died in Venice at the age of 85 after contracting COVID-19.
Feltrin passed away on 5 April after contracting the disease, which has killed over 16,500 people in Italy – one of the worst affected countries.
The Italian entrepreneur was born in 1934 and got his start processing leather. He went on to found Arper in 1989 with his sons Claudio and Mauro, and the furniture brand is now distributed internationally with 12 showrooms around the globe.
Among its most coveted products is the relaunched bowl-chair by modernist designed Lina Bo Bardi (pictured above).
