This dusty pink Mallorca home channels Mexican modernism

Colour is king

The paint is barely dry on this Mallorcan house by Isla Architects, which nestles among the vineyards between Santa Maria del Cami and Santa Eugenia and inspired by the tropical Mexican coast.

Practice principals Marta Colon and Juan Palencia designed the dusty pink-coloured island home in collaboration with Rabassa. Set over a single-storey, with crisp rectangular volumes capped by terracotta roof tiles, the house puts a twist on the traditional island vernacular while being reminiscent of Luis Barragan’s courtyard homes.

The pink house is for sale via Fantastic Frank for €2.4m, and while there’s still room for its new owner to leave their mark in the basement and via customisations, the Mallorca property is mostly complete.

Pivoting glass doors lead into the home, where rooms have high ceilings and exposed beams. Four bedrooms fill one wing of the house, with the living room and separate kitchen and dining room in the other.

Floor-to-ceiling glass doors open onto several private terraces and a mature garden, planted with trees and a small pine forest, and a full-size swimming pool.
