The California property was designed by Melinda Gray in 2006 and plays with volumes with graphic lines throughout. The 5,200 sq ft Stassi Lane home lies in the coastal city of Santa Monica in Los Angeles County and is on sale for $4.995m with Deasy Penner Podley.

A wooden-banister staircase sits in its central, triple-height dining room and wraps around its edges, accentuating the sense of volume and creating a first-floor galleried walkway.

Light floods in via clerestory windows while moveable glass doors pocket back into the walls, connecting the four-bedroom house to its outdoor pool area and gardens.

Just off the master bedroom is a tree-shaded, raised terrace supported by a red metal-framed structure – a recurring motif in Gray’s works.
