Fashion designer Jonathan Anderson has teamed up with Ruinart for his first hotel design project, filling its one-bedroom Notting Hill outpost with his own belongings.
Ruinart Hotel 1729 takes over a townhouse in the London neighbourhood, and Anderson has filled its history rooms with furniture, tableware and artworks from his own private collection. Among the treasures on display is a selection of ceramics, plucked from a shipwreck, and a kinetic mobile designed by Martin Belou in 2017.
The king-sized bedroom suite fills the entirety of the first floor, with an open plan kitchen and living room below. Elsewhere, rare centuries-old champagne glasses are displayed alongside blue and white Japanese and Irish Regency period plates and bowls.
Just 20 guests will have the chance to enjoy Anderson’s efforts overnight, though you might have more luck squeezing out a dinner reservation. Guests can host up to 8 people each evening, with head chef Luke Selby serving up a decadent menu of oysters, salmon and duck, accompanied by Ruinart wines. The experience runs until 14 July.
