Glowing orbs stretch in every direction at Snarkitecture’s latest installation, Sway, which plays with the idea of infinity.
The piece is on display at Intersect by Lexus in New York and features 168 spheres, mounted on flexible rods. Snarkitecture has installed mirrored walls in the room, which creates the feeling of standing in a vast forest of the spheres.
As visitors touch the orbs they move and change in colour and brightness, creating ripples of light that move through the space. According to the gallery, it’s designed to recreate the sensation of the rise and fall of water.
Entry to the exhibition – which runs until 2 June – is free, however, visitors will need to reserve themselves a time slot.
