Trigueiros Architecture designed this modern villa in Sweden’s Värmdö to tread lightly on its protected natural surrounds.
The house appears to ‘float’ among the trees thanks to its stilted steel base, which elevates its boxy volume above the rocky slope below. Exteriors are clad in larch, which has weathered since its construction in 2016 and has taken on a silvery hue that blends with the nature reserve that encircles the building.
Villa Åkerman is on the market via Fantastic Frank for 9.5m SEK and has floor-to-ceiling windows that peek out towards the water, where there’s a mooring spot for the owners’ boat and a sandy beach.
Interiors of the four-bedroom Swedish property meanwhile continue the modern rustic theme, with oak and larch used alongside alpine limestone and handmade tiles.
