Björk’s Brooklyn Heights apartment has hit the market – and a peek inside suggests it’s not what buyers might expect.
While the musician is known for her love of extravagant costumes and lavish artwork, the interiors of the four-bedroom penthouse – on the market with Douglas Elliman for $9m – are more subtle.
Aside from a flash of magenta and pastel pink in two of the rooms, the rest of the musician’s home is whitewashed and features surprisingly restrained details. As well as an office, laundry room and three en-suites, the penthouse has a spacious penny-tiled kitchen, and a dining room that leads into a small greenhouse with a retractable canvas roof.
Thanks to its wraparound terrace, the 3,000 sq ft New York property offers views across the city, and has enough room for parties to spill over into the outdoors. It’s currently largely bare, but has space for future owners to fill it with greenery.
