Woodland living gets a contemporary spin inside this freshly completed Utah home, which sits among the pine trees of Summit Park.

Architect Chris Price of Park City Design + Build constructed Treehaus earlier this year, and it combines rustic cabin living with sharp geometries and a monochrome colour palette.

Despite its name, 635 Parkview Drive is actually set into a hillside plot and comprises four stacked and twisted volumes that are clad entirely in blackened cedar, blending with the woodland surrounds.

Interiors of the 3,643 sq ft Utah property – on the market via City Home Collective for $1.1m – invert this dark colour palette, with white walls and pale oak floors throughout. Exposed steel beams also add a semi-industrial vibe, but really it’s all about the setting…

The four-bedroom passive house has three large decks for drinking in the pine-fresh air, as well as several balconies which tumble off its bedrooms and the vast first-floor living room and kitchen.
