Nature seems halfway to reclaiming this plant-covered villa in Switzerland’s Ticino, which has a hidden jungle at its heart.

The Muzzano property – on the market with Christie’s International Real Estate for 10m CHf – was built by architects Mario Campi and Franco Messina in 1964. It has a soft Brutalist vibe thanks to its concrete coffered ceilings and walls, while enormous floor-to-ceiling windows frame views of nearby Lake Lugano as well as the home’s interior courtyard jungle.

Milan-based practice Droulers Architecture gave the six-bedroom Swiss villa’s interiors a spruce in 2015, complementing its abundance of plant life and midcentury roots with dark green and blue walls, which set off its concrete surfaces.

Outside there’s a Japanese pond and waterfall, as well as a dining terrace screened by trees and a sun terrace that capitalises on lake views.

The master bedroom sits on its own floor, overlooking the central, plant-filled jungle and private lawn, while the other bedrooms all have their own gardens. Other perks include an indoor swimming pool.
