Event space mavericks Camm & Hooper have unveiled Six Storeys on Soho – their decadent, prohibition-inspired new townhouse equipped with bars, lounges and a restaurant.

The London venue offers a private member’s club experience, without the membership fee. Guests at Six Storeys on Soho can book anything from a table to a private room, or even all six floors of the building, which can host up to 300 people.

Camm & Hooper enlisted long-term collaborator Russell Sage Studio to design the interiors. Sage – who turned a Turkish bath house into a subterranean bar for the group last year – took inspiration from the Soho of yore for the townhouse’s trimmings. Spaces are decked with sumptuous William Morris wallpapers, as well as lush fabrics and furnishings.

Each floor has been given its own character and ‘story’ by Sage. The ground floor Lobby Bar is kitted with leather chairs and a moody colour scheme that evokes the smoky lounges of the Prohibition era.

Elsewhere formal (and informal) dining spaces give the upper levels a Victorian vibe, while The Lounge is ‘a place to make or maintain your good reputation’ while sipping cocktails. Over in the kitchen, chefs Alan Lucas and Caroline Gardiner are whipping up Victoriana fare.

Six Storeys on Soho officially launches 3 January, but guests can slip in early this month for a preview. We’ll raise a glass to that.
