Villa Stein was built by Le Corbusier in 1927 for collector couple Michaël and Sarah Stein and their friend Gabrielle de Monzie in Vaucresson, France. Its hulking, cubic form features cut out terraces and interiors have been given a refresh by designer Aurélie Berthet while maintaining features of Le Corbusier’s design, including ribbon windows and an open-plan layout. Architect James Allen Walter designed Pasadena’s Siodmak House in 1967 and it’s fresh from a top-to-toe restoration. This black metal treetop cabin in Norway’s Gjesåsen was designed by Oslo-based architect Espen Surnevik. The A-frame is clad in black oxidized zinc and steel sits high above the ground on four pillars. The tiny home can be accessed a free-standing spiral staircase and elevated walkway and has views over surrounding nature.
