Private residence in Los Angeles, USA

Hollywood Hills House, interiors by The Archers. The previously underused lowest floor of a massive developer-built house in the hills was completely reprogrammed and now functions more-or-less as a private hotel with its own entrance. Situated at the foot of a new oak and wenge staircase and opening onto a furnished terrace, the centrally placed lounge has a minimalist kitchen and bar. Bridging the satellite spaces of the new Technogym-kitted gym, spa (with steam room, sauna, ice plunge and private treatment room), screening room, and a series of guest suites, the lounge was loosely inspired by Space Station V’s Hilton Hotel lobby in Kubrick’s '2001: A Space Odyssey.' Vintage ‘Djinn’ sofa and lounge chairs by Olivier Mourgue (upholstered in Kvadrat/Raf Simons fabric), ‘Stars’ wallpaper by Droog and 'Celestial' carpet by Edward van Vliet for Moooi Carpets set the tone.  Vintage Model No. A810 Floor Lamp by Alvar Aalto, ‘Strips’ sofa by Cini Boeri for Arflex, ‘Ponte’ table by Fiam Italia and ‘Bombé’ tea and coffee service by Carlo Alessi with ‘Bavero’ teacups and saucers by Achille Castiglioni for Alessi. ‘Ria 791’ cushion and ‘Tronic’ throw by Kvadrat/Raf Simons #thearchers #interiordesign #interiors #architecture #remodel #hollywood #losangeles #california #contemporarydesign #oliviermourgue #djinn #kvadratrafsimons #droog #edwardvanvliet #celestial #moooi #alvaraalto #artek #ciniboeri #arflex #fiam #carloalessi #achillecastiglioni #alessi
