Canadian architect Arthur Erickson’s curvy ‘masterpiece’ Eppich House II has hit the market in Vancouver priced at $16.8m.

The swooping home is set over three tiers and appears to tumble down its hillside plot in West Vancouver. Erickson – one of Canada’s most famous architects – designed Eppich House in the 1970s but it wasn’t completed until 1988 and he called the futuristic house his ‘most complete work’.

It is now on the market via Sotheby’s International Realty Canada, and the four-bedroom steel and glass house is organised with recreational facilities (including a lounge and swimming pool) set on the main level. The ‘adult’s accommodation’ is above, with the children’s level on the lowest floor.

Slatted timber ceilings contrast plentiful panes of glass and provide warmth across the transparent home which clocks in at almost 7,000 sq ft and sits on a secluded 1.18-acre-plot. Furniture – including metal-framed leather sofas and modernist inspired fixtures – were designed bespoke for the project.
