A converted sculptor’s studio hits the market in London for £3m

The atelier of Scottish artist Sir William Reid Dick

A studio built for sculptor Sir William Reid Dick in 1926 and turned into a light-drenched home is for sale in London’s St John’s Wood for £3m.

The three-bedroom London property – now on the market via Savills – was built by Scottish architect Thomas Tait for the artist and is Grade II listed. At its heart is a soaring ‘living hall’ in what was the former artist’s studio space, which is capped by Crittall glass and currently serves as a vast living room.

A staircase leads to a gallery overlooking the studio space, which could be used as a bedroom or home office. Original parquet flooring has been retained, as have other period features though parts of the home could use a spruce – including the kitchen and bathroom.
